Municipal Councilors including six women take oath in Ganderbal

The newly elected Municipal Councilors of Municipal Committee Ganderbal took the oath of office at a swearing-in ceremony held here at Town Hall on Saturday.

The spokesman in a statement said that the oath was administered by Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC), Ganderbal, N A Baba to all the elected members including six women of 17 wards of Municipal Committee Ganderbal.

The electoral office has identified the winning candidates as Samia Ahad from Beehama Nagripora, Abdul Rashid Rather son of Abdul Aziz from Beehama Wahid Sahib, Jeelani Ahmed Mir son of Ali Mohd Mir BJP from Ganderbal ward A, Haleema wife of Mohammad Shafi from Ganderbal ward B, Showkat Ahmad Mir son of Ghulam Mohammad from Arampora A, Altaf Ahmad Lone son of Assadullah Lone from Arampora  B ward, Mehak Shah daughter of Ghulam Mohammad Shah INC from Duderhama Gousia, Hilal Ahmad Tantray son of  Bashir Ahmad Tantray from Duderhama, Nazir Ahmad Ganaie son of Ghulam Rasool Ganaie from  Fathipora A, Rashida Bano wife of Nazir Ahmad Ganaie from Fatehpora B, Ghulam Hassan Dar son of  Mohammad Ramzan Dar from Gangerhama A, Bashir Ahmad Koul son of Ghulam Mohammad Koul from Gangerhama B, Nabla wife of Abdul Rahim Bhat from Wanipora, Sajjad Ahmad son of  Ali Mohd Wani INC from Bamloora , Lateef Ahmad son of Ali Mohammad BJP from Saloora A, Sara wife of Abdul Rashid Saloora B and Abdul Majid son of  Mohammad Sadiq Mir from Saloora C.

“While congratulating to the elected members, who showed enthusiasm in strengthening the grass root level democracy, the ADDC urged upon them to meet the expectations of people and take development scenario to new heights in the town,” he said.

Among others, Executive Officer, Municipal Committee Ganderbal was also present on the occasion.
