Winter 2016: Kashmir Records 238.51 mm of Rain

This winter Kashmir received quite low rainfall against what it received in 2015.

According to Srinagar based Meteorological department (MeT), a low pressure weather system is building over Kashmir valley which might likely result in light to moderate rainfall from Saturday up to 3rd-4th of April.

Speaking to Kashmir Life a met official said, “Kashmir recorded just 238.51 mm of rain in last three months.”

He added that in 2015, “Kashmir recorded around 465.1 mm of rain”.

Meanwhile, despite shower in higher reaches from this   morning, the Srinagar-Jammu Highway is open for heavy vehicular traffic.

“Light Motor Vehicles will be allowed up to 3PM,” official said. “One way traffic was allowed today from Srinagar to Jammu.”
