Spring down South

As days become warmer, people across Kashmir are preparing for a healthy summer ahead after three months long winter. Shah Hilal roves his camera across South Kashmir to capture the daily activities of people during Spring

With snow-covered mountains in the backdrop, hamlets assume postcard-perfect dimensions when largely green poplars contrast sharply with the pastel pink Apricot blossoms.

In South Kashmir in particular, vast swaths of agricultural fields turn into a bright yellow expanse of wilderness when Mustard flowers unravel attracting honey bees and butterflies.

Animals, grown weary of drab winters, shake off their sloppiness and revel in the glory of lush green meadows and newly sprouted grass.
