JAMMU

Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Sunday sought support of all political parties to pass unanimous resolution in the Assembly for sanctioning Medical Colleges at Pir Panchal range, Udhampur and Kupwara districts.

Addressing a press conference PDP MLA from Darhal Choudhary Zulfikar charged Congress and National Conference leadership with betraying residents of twin border districts of Poonch and Rajouri. MLC Yash Pal Sharma, who is PDP candidate for Jammu-Poonch Lok Sabha seat, Abdul Haq, PDP MLA from Kupwara were also present in the press conference.

Choudhary Zulfikar said that Poonch-Rajouri belt has already suffered a lot due to militancy but now this belt has become victim of the discriminatory policies being propagated by the UPA government at Centre and NC led coalition government in the State. He said that both Congress and National Conference are partners in both the governments so leadership of these two parties are responsibly for discriminating with Poonch-Rajouri belt. He mentioned that earlier the project to connect Poonch Rajouri with rail link was abandoned without any reason. “Now this belt has been ignored by sanctioning medical colleges”, he said and supported the demand of sanctioning medical colleges at Udhampur and Kupwara also.

“We have already moved a resolution in the Assembly for sanctioning medical colleges at Pir Panchal area, Kupwara and Udhampur district”, he said and appealed all political parties to support the resolution.
