Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah Saturday said that allegation about one of his Cabinet Ministers, Abdul Rahim Rather that he possessed a Bungalow in Dubai has proved totally baseless.
The Chief Minister said that the allegation leveled against Rather has been proved as totally wrong when investigated by the Vigilance Organization.
Omar was replying the discussion on demand of grants for the departments under his charge in the Legislative Assembly.
Omar, while dwelling on various measures taken by his government against corruption in the State, said that he is very strict against corruption and has never shielded any one in his government against whom there was any charge of corruption adding that when a complaint against Rather came to him, he immediately asked the Vigilance Organization to verify the matter. “The Vigilance Organization after conducting thorough inquiry found that the allegation was ill founded and totally baseless”, he said.
