SRINAGAR: On charges of violating ongoing Lockdown prohibitions, police in Shopian have detained at least fifteen people and seized several cars.
Taking to micro-blogging site Twitter, District Police Shopian on its official handle wrote, “#Shopian Police arrested 15 persons & seized 07 vehicles & 01 scooty in different FIRs registered against them for defying/ violating Corona Lockdown.” #Requests general Public to strictly adhere govt orders and SOPs in order to contain Corona virus, it advises further.”

Pertinent to mention here that authorities in its bid to contain the spread the deadly virus clamped an 84-hour pan Jammu and Kashmir Lockdown 29 on April (evening) – till 3 May. (GNS)
