Covid19: 37 Deaths, Fewer Infections At 1525 Reported As 4070 Defeat The Contagion

SRINAGAR: At the end of May, when shops and other business activities have been restored across Jammu and Kashmir, as many as  37 deaths were reported owing to Covid19 across 20 districts of the erstwhile state. During the last 24 hours, 1525 fresh infections were reported, with 1000 from Kashmir while 525 from the Jammu division.

Kashmir lost 17 citizens and Jammu 20 in the last 24 hours. Jammu city’s Covid19 casualties reached 1067, the highest in the 20 districts.

But what is rarely being seen is that more people return home from hospitals fully recovered than the new tally of infections. In the last 24 hours, as many as 4070 people recovered thus reducing the number of active cases to 35095. The recoveries included 1801 cases in Jammu and 2269 in Kashmir.

Now the death toll of Covid19 in Jammu and Kashmir is 3907 including 1999 in Kashmir and 1908 in Jammu.

As many as seven deaths took place in Jammu city and seven in Srinagar city, the information revealed by the government said.

The district-wise details suggest that Kashmir lost three citizens in Kulgam, two each in Baramulla, Bandipora, and Pulwama, and one in Budgam.

Apart from 12 deaths reported from Jammu city, the region lost four citizens in Udhampur, two in Doda, and one each in Kathua and Rajouri.

In Kashmir, the new cases include 102 from Baramulla, 121 from Budgam, 77 from Pulwama, 181 from Kupwara, 88 from Anantnag, 35 from Bandipora, 46 from Ganderbal, 65 from Kulgam, and 32 from Shopian.

From Jammu, officials said Udhampur reported 25, Rajouri 40, Doda 64, Kathua 13, Samba 06, Kishtwar 14, Poonch 29, Ramban 36, and Reasi 20.

Right now, Jammu and Kashmir has 35095 active cases, which includes 22034 in Kashmir 13061 in Jammu.
