SRINAGAR: A gunfight broke out between militants and government forces in Malbagh area of Srinagar district on Thursday late night.
Reports said that a joint team of Police and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation in Malbagh area after having credible inputs about the presence of some militants in the area.
As the joint team of forces approached the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon forces triggering an encounter.
When last reports came intermittent firing was going on.
