SRINAGAR: A 30-year-old woman was injured after India and Pakistan armies exchange fire along the LoC in Uri own of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Friday.
Locals said that a civilian identified as Parveena Begum (30) sustained splinter injury in the shelling at Fatawali Nambla village in Uri sector.
She was immediately shifted to sub-district hospital in Uri for treatment, they said.
The heavy shelling has caused panic in the villages of Nambla, Torna, Hathlanga, Churanda and Gohallan in Uri. All the shops in Nambla village were closed and 13 members of two families were also shifted from Sailkote village to a safer place.
The firing started early morning and has continued since in the Hajipeer sector in Uri. Indian troops have retaliated to firing, said the reports.
