SRINAGAR: The government on Tuesday said that around 153 persons including four infants stranded in Oman were set to arrive in Kashmir today evening.

The government said arrangements are being made for their arrival in an orderly manner while adhering to the norms of social distancing and undertaking testing so as to ensure that timely action is taken to prevent any spread of Covid-19 in J&K.

Before boarding the flight stranded passengers expressed gratitude to the Government of India and Embassy for evacuating them.
“I am thankful to the Indian High Commission and others who have been helping us throughout, thank you so much for the evacuation, we are happy to reach our homes,” said Afaq a Kashmiri resident.
Another passenger said the Indian embassy continuously helped us and we are all very thankful to them.
“I am from Kashmir and we have been evacuated from Oman to Srinagar on a direct flight, I am thankful to the government for taking this enormous step,” another passenger said.
