SRINAGAR: Various political parties and leaders have expressed condolences on the passing away of former union minister and veteran Congress leader P Namgyal, who breathed his last at Leh on Monday morning.
Congress
In a statement, All India Congress Committee (AICC) expressed profound grief over the passing away of former Union Minister and Party Veteran P Namgyal and conveyed deepest condolences to the bereaved family
AICC President Sonia Gandhi has expressed anguish over the demise of Party Veteran P. Namgyal and conveyed deepest condolences to family, relatives and friends of the departed soul.
AICC President expressed solidarity with the bereaved family.
Meanwhile, Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Gulam Nabi Azad, General Secretary AICC and other senior leaders also condoled the demise of Former Union Minister & Senior Party Colleague P. Namgyal.
They described the deceased as a man of commitment, who always remained committed to the cause of strengthening people of Ladakh.
The Leaders conveyed deepest condolences to the bereaved family, expressed solidarity with them and prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul.
The Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) also expressed deep sorrow over the demise of Veteran Party Leader Former Union Minister P. Namgyal and conveyed deepest condolences to the bereaved family.
Former JKPCC President and Former Union Minister Prof. Saifuddin Soz has expressed deep sorrow over the passing away P. Namgyal, describing the deceased as a visionary and upright personality.
Prof. Soz conveyed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul.
Former PCC President Peerzada Mohammad Sayeed and Former Minister Taj Mohi U Din while expressing grief over the demise of P Namgyal, described it as a great loss to Congress Party.
Both the leaders expressed solidarity with the bereaved family.
Meanwhile, JKPCC Vice Presidents Gulam Nabi Mona, Haji Abdul Rashid Dar, Mohd Anwar Bhat, Amreen Badre and various Party functionaries expressed anguish over the demise of P Namgyal and conveyed deepest condolences to the bereaved family.
The leaders while praying tributes to P Namgyal said that the deceased was a visionary, whose contributions to the overall development of J&K & Ladakh UT shall always be remembered.
They conveyed deepest condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for peace to the departed soul.
The Party has lost a great leader in the demise of P. Namgyal, they added.
National Conference
Jammu and Kashmir National Conference President, Member of Parliament from Srinagar Dr Farooq Abdullah and Vice President Omar Abdullah also expressed profound grief and sorrow over the demise of former Union Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, Surface Transport and Chemicals and three-time Member of Parliament from Ladakh P Namgyal.
While expressing grief over the demise of Namgyal, Party President said, “I express my sympathies to the mournful family in their hour of grief, I also pray for peace for the departed soul. He actively associated himself in bringing social reforms and the promotion of cultural activities in Ladakh. The people of Ladakh benefited immensely under his stewardship and guidance. I also express my solidarity with his family and followers on their bereavement.”
Namgyal ushered in an era of development in Ladakh, he had deep conviction for secular ideals, he will be remembered for the sheer amount of good work, which he rendered while serving the country and the people of Ladakh in various capacities, Party Vice President said while expressing sorrow over Namgyal’s demise. “His contribution to wildlife preservation and environment protection in Ladakh is immense. I pray for eternal repose to his departed soul, and much-needed strength to the mournful family. I also express unison with his followers, friends and family in their hour of grief,” he said.
Among others party’s Chief Spokesperson Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi, Provincial President Nasir Aslam Wani, Qamar Ali Akhoon, Hanifa Jan, District President Leh P Anchuk, Tsten Namgyal, Councilor Leh P. Wangdam, Nazir Khan have also expressed grief over the demise of Namgyal. The functionaries have prayed for peace to the departed soul and much-needed strength to the mournful family.
PDP
Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has also condoled the demise of three-time Member of Parliament from Ladakh and Former Union Minister P. Namgyal, terming his demise deeply saddening and disturbing.
PDP spokesman while condoling the demise stated that late Namgyal had an illustrious career and his contribution to the society is immense, this void is difficult to bridge.
The spokesman highlighted the role late Namgyal played for the upliftment of society’s downtrodden and underprivileged sections. He termed the deceased leader a role model for the people who aspire to serve the society and represent the unrepresented in the power corridors.
Party has prayed for peace to the departed soul and strength to the bereaved family members.
