High Level Committee (HLC) meeting chaired by the Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Baseer Ahmad Khan, on Monday removed a major hurdle in Parimpora-Narbal road widening project.
After a detailed discussion between Div Com and the landowner, it was decided that proper compensation would be paid to the landowner and the land was handed over to the BEACON authorities, the executing agency of the project.
Patently, the estimated cost of the Parimpora-Narbal road widening project is Rs 180 crores and most of the work was completed in a time-bound manner.
The Divisional Commissioner directed the concerned to start the process for shifting utilities.
He urged BEACON authorities to start the construction work on the vacated land stretch immediately and complete the project at an earliest so that commuters do not face any inconvenience while travelling to north Kashmir.
Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary, Additional Commissioner Kashmir, Chief Engineer R&B, Collector Land Acquisition (R&B), Officers of BEACON and other concerned officials were present in the HLC meeting.
