New Women College Srinagar students protest over shifting of college

Scores of the students of New Women College Srinagar on Wednesday staged a protest demonstration against the authorities’ decision to shift them to Amar Singh College and Government Degree College Nawakadal Srinagar.

The agitating students assembled in press colony and shouted slogans against the administration for shifting them to other colleges.

“We all were earlier asked whether we are willing to shift from here or not, but how can without letting us know the government is shifting us from our college,” one of the protesting students said.

The protesting students alleged that the department is very keen to make the newly established new women’s College functional at Zakura and students are bearing the burnt.
