Prevailing situation fallout of wrong policies of State, Centre, Congress says

Srinagar

Expressing serious concern over the deteriorating situation in South Kashmir and elsewhere in Valley, the Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee(JKPCC) on Sunday described the spurt in Militancy related activities as a matter of serious concern.

Congress also expressed deep sorrow over the loss of Civilians and Security Forces during the encounters, describing the loss as highly painful and unfortunate, the bloodshed must end in the larger interests of peace, the Party said.

In a Statement the Party Spokesperson while condemning the civilian killings, urged upon the Security Forces to exercise restraint while dealing with Militancy related activities, as that loss of innocent civilians is adding more fuel to the fire, which is not in the interest of peace and stability, rather it will have serious ramifications on the peace initiatives.

He also expressed serious concerns over the injuries to dozens of civilians in South Kashmir and urged upon the people especially youth not to confront Security Forces, appealed them to restore calm, as that pelting of stones invites action by the Forces leading to injuries and loss of innocent civilians.

Lashing out at both State and Centre Government for failing to restore peace, the spokesperson described the present prevailing situation in Kashmir as a fallout of mis-governance, mismanagement and lack of policies on the part of PDP BJP regime, holding them responsible for bloodshed and unabated incidents of encounters. He said both State & Centre lacks any policy regarding Kashmir situation, as a result, the Militancy in the valley is at peak again, which is a matter of serious concern.

Both State and Centre must take effective measures to reach out to people to restore peace and tranquillity instead of getting engaged in rhetoric, he added and cautioned that unabated bloodshed and use of force will further deepen the alienation among the people, he said.
