Kashmiri student ‘kidnapped’ in Jalandhar

 One Kashmiri student Adil Yousuf Teli, studying in Jhalander was kidnapped by eight unidentified men, allegedly carrying guns and pistols, on Friday morning from his rented room at Mithu Basti area of Jhalander city.

According to the family, Adil a BCA student at Saint Soldier College in Jhalander was picked by eight armed men along with his belongings including his books, laptop and other things.

Adil’s father Mohammad Yousuf Teli, a resident of Yaripora village of South Kashmir’s Kulgam district, said that they have also registered an FIR in police station Yaripora and in Jhalander. “We are in shock since we heard about Adil’s kidnapping.”

One of the students studying with Adil told Kashmir Life over the phone that “since he was picked they have searched every nook and corner of the area to look for his whereabouts.”

A senior police officer from Kulgam told Kashmir Life that, “We have already taken the issue up with concerned SP and SHO. They are verifying the facts. The roommates of Adil have said that it was a party that had come apparently from Delhi, who were carrying small arms and have taken his laptop as well. We are verifying which agency it could be and will take a bit of time.”

Meanwhile managing director St Soldiers College, Monahar Arora said that they have registered a case in Police station Mithu Jalandhar, “I will also approach to the police headquarters in Jalandhar and make sure the case is taken on a priority basis.”
