The search operation launched on Friday continued for the second consecutive day today in frontier district of Kupwara in north Kashmir.
Notably, the army claimed to have foiled an infiltration bid on Thursday night along the LoC in Kupwara following which a massive search operation was launched in the forest area.
Army officials said that the militants when challenged opened fire which was challenged, triggering a gunfight.
However, the militants managed to escape into the woods, following which a search operation was launched on Friday morning.
However, no contact has been established with the militants so far.
