It is an open secret that women from Bengali are sold and married in Kashmir. But the case of a 15-year-old girl from Bengal, who was married to a 50-year-old man in Kashmir, revealed the darker side of the human trafficking. Somehow, the girl managed to flee and went straight to her home in West Bengal. But to her shock, her father, who had brought her to Kashmir on the pretext of tour, forced her to go back to her “in-laws” in Kashmir. The girl then approached local police with the help of her former school headmaster and filed a formal complaint against her family.
