DeM appeals people to march towards South Kashmir to offer condolence

Srinagar

Chairperson of Dukhtaran-e-Millat, Syedah Aasiyeh Andrabi, on Sunday called for complete shutdown in the Kashmir and Chenab Valley against the militant and civil killings in South Kashmir.

In a statement, the DeM chief said that people should unanimously register a strong protest against the killings.

“Jammu and Kashmir are in a state of mourning, I appeal the pro-resistance leadership to guide the people rightly at this crucial juncture. We are being massacred and the whole world is watching like a mute spectator,” the spokesman quoted DeM saying.

“Today the government forces have committed yet another massacre. In pain and shock, we once again pledge the blood of our martyrs won’t go waste. We appeal the leadership to chalk out a proper plan at this critical juncture of the resistance movement,” she added.

Andrabi said that it was the responsibility of the resistance leadership to safeguard the sacrifices and to take the Kashmir resistance movement to a logical conclusion.

Reiterating the appeal for a complete shutdown for two days, Andrabi said that the people of Kashmir including Chenab Valley should register a strong protest against the genocide of Kashmiris and observe a complete shutdown.

She also appealed the people to march towards south Kashmir to offer condolences to the martyrs’ families and express solidarity with them.

“These are our own children. Everyone should march collectively towards south Kashmir so that families of the martyrs feel that the whole nation is with them.”

Expressing satisfaction over the Azad Jammu and Kashmir’s chief ministers’ decision to observe “Solidarity Day” with the people of Kashmir on Monday in the backdrop of the Shopian massacre, Andrabi said that, “Alhamdulillah Raja Farooq Haider has declared that rallies would be held in AJK in solidarity with Kashmir. This is a good decision,” the spokesman added.

Andrabi also expressed unsatisfaction over the Pakistan Foreign Offices’ only verbal protest against India over the killings. “Merely issuing statements and warnings are not going to yield desired results.  The government of Pakistan should come out of the habit of issuing such statements.

She also suggested that the Pakistan Embassy in India should also register a protest in the appropriate quarters against the massacre.
