JK Cadre IAS officer drowns in a swimming pool in New Delhi

Ashish Dahiya, a 2016 Batch J&K cadre of IAS officer, drowned while rescuing a lady colleague from drowning in the swimming pool of the Foreign Service Institute in Ber Sarai early on Tuesday.

Dahiya had to join J&K IMPA Srinagar from Wednesday for institutional training.

A resident of Sonipat, Haryana, Dahiya had earlier worked with Bharat Petroleum, Himachal Pardesh Police and Indian Revenue Service before cracking IAS.

Dahiya was also a recipient of directors gold medal in LABSANA and had a B.Tech degree. He is survived by a wife who is a doctor by profession.
