#Day116: Govt Committed for Infra Development on Modern Lines, says Veeri

Minister for Public Works and Parliamentary Affairs, Abdul Rehman Veeri, Tuesday said that the Government is committed for the development of infrastructure on modern lines across the State.

The Minister was speaking at a foundation stone laying ceremony of VVIP Guest house at Anantnag. The Guest house shall comprise 4 suites to be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 1.25 crore, an official spokesperson said this evening.

On the occasion, Veeri directed the concerned executing agency to complete the project by March end.

He also sought cooperation of the people in bringing the state on the path of development.

He discussed the progress of construction on the Conference-cum-Meeting hall at Dak Bunglow and directed the concerned to complete the work by ending November.

The Minister also took appraisal of the other on-going works and called upon the concerned officers to put in their best efforts to achieve the targets well in time.

Veeri asked the officers to remain pro-active in taking the benefits of development to the grass root level.

Hanjura Distributes Cheques Among Fire Victims

Minister for Agriculture, Ghulam Nabi Lone Hanjura, Tuesday distributed cheques worth Rs 3 lakh among four fire victims whose houses were gutted in a recent fire incident in Chrar-e-Sharief Constituency.

The amount has been released through Constituency Development Fund (CDF) for victims belonging to Hafru village of the Constituency.

Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that the present coalition Government is committed to ensure equitable development of all the three regions of the State.

He said several initiatives have been taken for the upliftment and welfare of the people besides adequate funds have been released under various sectors.

He also said that various Centrally Sponsored and State sector schemes including Beti Bachoo Beti Padhao have been launched in the State with an aim to improve the living standard of the people.

Assistant Development Commissioner, Budgam and other Officers of Rural Development and Revenue Departments were also present on the occasion.
