A group of civil society activists staged a rally here on Sunday to register a protest against the recent instances of shelling on a minibus and an ambulance in PaKs Neelum valley,a statement issued to the media said.

Some ambulances were also part of the rally, which began from Azadi Chowk, outside Press Club, and culminated some 500 yards head at the Garhipan Chowk.

The symbolic rally was led by Mushaal Hussein Mullick, wife Yasin Malik.

Participants raised slogans against unceasing oppression and killings in J&K and demanded complete withdrawal of forces at the earliest and holding of a free and fair plebiscite in accordance with the UN Security Council resolutions.

Speaking on the occasion, Ms Mullick said India was using the most lethal weapons in held Kashmir, such as pellets, PAVA shells and stun grenades, which were causing visual and aural impairments to people.

Apart from unleashing reign of terror in Kashmir, India was also attacking unarmed and innocent civilian populations living along the LoC in PaK, which must not go unnoticed.

Ms Mullick urged the world bodies, particularly the UN Human Rights Council, to send their fact-finding missions to monitor the scale and depth of human rights violations in held Kashmir.

Ms Mullick later visited a camp of Kashmiri refugees near here, where she interacted with the refugees and vowed to play her role in resolution of the problems being faced by them. She also distributed blankets and clothes amongst the refugees.
