With a view to complement traditional training methods, J&K Bank today launched “Electronic Learning Portal” (ELP) for its staff.
Chairman and CEO Mushtaq Ahmad on Friday inaugurated the portal with a click in presence of the bank’s Executive Presidents Parvez Ahmad, S S Sehgal, Vagish Chander and Abdul Rauf Bhat, Senior President M Syed Wani, Vice presidents and other senior officers here at the bank’s Staff Training College Gogji Bagh.
Speaking on the occasion, Chairman said, “Well-informed HR and technology remain the consistent leading-edges of successful companies across the world today. With a remarkable legacy of almost eight decades, it is our responsibility to collectively invest best resources in both for further growth and success of this institution.”
“I hope this e-learning portal shall go a long way in creating a more knowledgeable workforce across the hierarchies and boost the efficiency out-put of organization in the longer run”, he said in a company statement this evening.
Executive President HRDD Abdul Rauf Bhat gave an overview of the portal and said, “The bank will develop a mechanism whereby the employees shall be assessed for knowledge level of the online courses available on the portal through regular online quizzes and incentivize those faring better.”
The portal shall mainly focus on varied aspects of banking, economy and finance in general besides concise information about the products and services of the bank. The portal shall remain accessible for the staff members during office hours. Notably, some of the modules of the e-learning courses have been developed by the Indian Institute of Banking & Finance and the remaining content has been developed by STC, Srinagar.
The software for the portal has been developed by the Technology and Information Systems Division of the bank.
Meanwhile, the bank opened three more new business units; one each in Budgam, Baramulla and Bandipore amid large gatherings comprising of valuable customers, senior citizens, traders and local residents.
Zonal Head Kashmir Central (II) Tasaduq Ahmad inaugurated the premises at Mirgund Budgam while as Zonal Head Kashmir North Mohammad Younis did the ceremonial opening of business units at Kanispora Baramulla and Mini-secretariat Bandipora.
The participants thanked the bank for opening of branches and thereby providing world class banking services at their door-steps.
