Senior PDP leader and Member Parliament, Tariq Hameed Karra has demanded a high-level probe into the alleged involvement of some ministers of the NC-Congress coalition government in fueling 2010 unrest that led to scores of innocent deaths in Kashmir.

“The disturbing revelations made in certain sections of the media about the alleged involvement of some ministers of the present coalition government, including a couple of senior NC leaders, in fuelling 2010 unrest for their power ambitions needs to be probed thoroughly as it smacks of a gory nexus,” Karra said in a statement. He was referring to a news report published in a local daily in its June 5 edition regarding involvement of at least three senior ministers of the NC-Congress coalition government in furthering their power ambitions in the garb of 2010 unrest.

Demanding a CBI probe into the whole issue, Karra said the political faces behind the bloodstained conspiracy need to be unmasked so that the people know the backroom conspirators who got scores of innocents, including teenagers, martyred at the hands of the government led by Omar Abdullah in a gory game of trying to grab the power at the cost of Kashmiris’ blood.

He said PDP has been right from the beginning saying that NC has developed a vested interest in bloodshed and the party is trying to push Kashmir again into a quagmire of death and destruction for petty political gains.

“NC’s very presence on the political landscape of JK has now become a permanent threat to the State’s peace and stability,” he said and added that time has come for the people of Jammu and Kashmir to make NC accountable for every drop of blood that was shed in the State because of the party’s political highhandedness and bloodthirsty machinations. He said 2014 offers a great opportunity for the people of the State to put an end to this menace once for all, through the use of ballot.
