Mine blast injures army man on LoC

An army trooper was wounded after accidentally stepping over a landmine planted blindly close to the Line of Control (LoC) dividing Kashmir, official sources said on Saturday.


The blast took place in Mandi Sabjian sector of frontier Poonch district. “A trooper accidentally stepped over a landmine yesterday, which went off resulting in wounding him,” they said.


“The wounded trooper was immediately evacuated to a military hospital and is stated to be out of danger,” they added.


According to sources, the trooper was part of a group that was on a routine patrol in the area.


Worth to mention that army has planted landmines along the LoC to stop infiltration from the other side. LoC is guarded by army while as the International Border (IB) is being guarded by Border Security Forces (BSF).
