Residents of Sarai Bala, Magarmal Bagh and Hazuri Bagh have blocked traffic near Iqbal Park in city protesting against the non availability of drinking water in their areas.
Reports said that the residents of the area took to streets early Saturday morning appealing that water should be restored on immediate basis.
“The road block has left passengers and commuters in lurch as there is no movement on the vital Rambagh – Jahangir route,” a driver said.
Pertinent to mention here, the route is already facing disturbance in the vehicular movement due to the ongoing construction of Flyover.
“Hundreds of vehicles are stranded as the locals are reluctant to budge,” a passenger said.
The locals alleged that their area id facing water shortage from many days.
Meanwhile, police and civil administration officials have reached the spot and are pacifying the protestors.
