SRINAGAR: The uncle of Hurriyat (M) chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq passed away on Friday.
“With deep grief and sorrow, it is to inform that an octogenarian member of Mirwaiz Family, Moulvi Ali Muhammad Jan, who was the elder brother of Mirwaiz Moulvi Muhammad Farooq and the uncle of Mirwaiz-e-Kashmir Dr Moulvi Muhammad Umar Farooq, passed away on Friday after a brief illness,” said a statement issued today.
The deceased Moulvi Ali Muhammad Jan resident of Kursoo Rajbagh was the grandson of Mirwaiz Moulana Ateequllah Shah and the elder son of Moulvi Muhammad Amin.
