SRINAGAR: The weather slightly improved further in the Kashmir Valley on Tuesday with an increase in the minimum temperatures brought some relief to the people of Kashmir from a severe cold.
“The weather is likely to improve further and will remain dry till December 6,” an official said.
He said that the night temperature across Kashmir valley improved by several degrees last night.
“Mainly dry weather is expected till 6th December. A spell of rain and snow is likely during December 7 and December 8,” said an official.
Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, recorded 1.0 degrees Celsius as the minimum temperature on today as compared to Monday’s minus 1.3.
The famous ski resort of Gulmarg in north Kashmir, which experienced several feet of snowfall on various occasions last month, was the coldest place in Kashmir with a low of minus 1.4 degrees Celsius.
The famous hill resort of Pahalgam in south Kashmir recorded a minimum of 0.2 degrees Celsius.
Kupwara township of north Kashmir recorded a low of 1.0 degrees Celsius. Kokernag, in south Kashmir, recorded 1.2 degrees Celsius while Qazigund registered 1.4, he said.
In the Jammu region, Jammu city recorded 10.9 degrees Celsius, Katra recorded 10.6, Banihal 4.2, Batote recorded 8.1 and Bhaderwah 5.4 as the night’s lowest temperatures.
