JKDFP expresses solidarity with grieved Barzulla family

Srinagar

Jammu Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (JKDFP) has expressed solidarity and sympathy with the family of Ghulam Ahmad Bhat, of Barzulla, Srinagar, whose son, Mudasir Ahmad Bhat is believed to be killed by government forces in Kupwara earlier last month but the authorities are not taking measures of handing his body to the grieved family, the spokesman said.

The party spokesperson said in a statement that Kashmiri people are considered a cheap commodity by the forces but the irony is that local authorities do not pay any heed to voices, which is more hurting.

Quoting his father, the JKDFP spokesperson said that Mudasir Ahmad had left his home in Old Barzulla Srinagar in December 2016 for some work. He stayed in touch with family members on phone, but in January his phone became switched off.  On June 29, the family heard that Mudasir has been killed in an encounter in Kupwara. They went to Kralpora Kupwara police station where they were told that the slain was a foreigner and had been buried.

“Terming the role of police authorities as criminal for not photographing the dead body before its silent and secret burial, the JKDFP spokespersons said that Kashmiris are being taken-for-granted and at times not considered as human beings,” the spokesman said.

The spokesperson expressed deep shock over the continuous bloodshed in the Kashmir and said that only India is holding the key to stop the carnage. He said that New Delhi needs to accept the hard but historic realities of the Kashmir dispute so that it can be resolved according to the wishes of the people. This only can assure the security of the people of Kashmir and peace in the whole South Asian Region.
