South Kashmir killings: AAC expresses serious concern

Srinagar

Expressing serious concern over the deteriorating situation in Kashmir, on Monday Awami Action Committee (AAC) said that under a well thought out plan, Kashmir ’s are being killed, while as Kashmir has been turned into a military and police state.

In a statement issued here, the AAC termed the killing of 17 people and pellet injuries to over 100 in South Kashmir in the force’s action, an act of war crime which deserves strong condemnation.

The AAC paid rich tribute to all the people killed in South Kashmir on Sunday and prayed for the speedy recovery of all the injured. The AAC said that powers given to the forces by AFSPA, Kashmir’s young boys are being selectively killed.

The AAC said that killing of innocent civilians can’t be tolerated for long and that the Kashmir dispute was a political and human issue which needs to be resolved by implementing the UN resolutions or through tripartite talks and that resolution has to be acceptable to the people of Kashmir, who are the primary party to the dispute.

The AAC said that as long as Kashmir dispute continues to linger on, killings of innocents, human rights violations and the tension between the two nuclear powers, India and Pakistan won’t go away.

The AAC also paid rich tributes to Ishfaq Majeed Wani and Dr Abdul Ahad Guro on their death anniversaries stating that they have sacrificed their lives for a great and sacred cause and it’s the duty of people and the leadership to take the mission towards the logical end.
