As Kashmir plains received the overnight rains, there was a sigh of relief from a month-long dry spell.
An official from the MeT department said that there has been a remarkable improvement in minimum temperatures across the state due to cloud cover and rain, “even temperatures in the Ladakh region have also improved,” the weatherman said.
“The overnight rain has also helped to raise the minimum temperature further in Kashmir valley,” he added.
The Srinagar city on Wednesday night recorded 3.5 degree Celsius temperature while tourist destination Pahalgam recorded minus 2.5 followed by minus 3.6 in ski resort Gulmarg.
The minimum temperature recorded in Kargil was minus-three in comparison to minus fifteen, recorded a day before, Leh recorded minus 7.8.
Jammu city remained at ease with 8.6 recorded minimum while Katra recorded 10.3 and 6.2 were recorded in Udhampur, Banihal 3.7, Bhaderwah 2.5 and 5.7 in Batote.
