A police cop injured in a militant attack outside Hurriyat leaders residence at Bilal Colony Soura area of Srinagar on Sunday evening has succumbed to injuries in Soura hospital, official sources said.
The police guard deployed outside the Hurriyat leader Fazal Haq Qureshi’s residence in Soura Srinagar was seriously injured when he was shifted to SKIMS, however, succumbed to injuries in the hospital.
SHO Soura confirmed the incident adding that suspected militants have fled with his service rifle also.
Meanwhile, the government forces have cordoned off the area and search operation has been started to nab the assailants.
