Madni’s son declines job offer minutes after CM orders probe

Srinagar

As soon as the Jammu and Kashmir Chief minister Mehbooba Mufti ordered a high-level probe into the appointments of Jammu & Kashmir Khadi & Village Industries Board (KVIB) on Sunday, Chief minister’s nephew Aroot Madni also a son of Sartaj Madni declined to accept the offer of appointment as Executive Officers from the Board.

Chief Spokesperson PDP Rafi Ahmed Mir while talking to Kashmir Life said that “Aroot has voluntarily declined the job offer as Executive Officer (KVIB), adding that the probe issued by chief minister has also been withdrawn.”

A top official said that the probe has been directed to see the entire process, and there will be more inspections regarding the appointments.

Earlier, Jammu and Kashmir National Conference on Friday asked Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to explain how the son of PDP Vice President and her Uncle, as well as the nephew of PDP General Secretary Peerzada Mansoor Hussain, figured in the list of selected Executive Officers for the Jammu and Kashmir Khadi and Village Board.

Meanwhile, the National Conference state spokesman Junaid Azam Mattu has posted a couple of posts on his Facebook timeline saying,  “Spoke on the KVIB recruitment scam involving the CM @MehboobaMufti’s family and other such scams in their departments and schemes. Now that her cousin has withdrawn from the list, its clear proof that it was a backdoor appointment that wouldn’t stand the scrutiny of a probe.”

“Dear @jkpdp who is Imran Nazir Malik who figures at No. 1 in the KVIB list? Is he a partner/associate in Malik Gas Agency with one of your Legislators? What about another firm called Sukhnag and is there a business relationship between the said applicant and your legislator?”

“Has another cousin of Chief Minister @MehboobaMufti been appointed in J&K Bank a few months back and draws a salary while staying home? If this revelation too is true – I think this calls for the CM’s resignation on moral grounds.”

“The probe ordered by the CM into the KVIB appointments of her kith and kin is another CRUEL JOKE. This administration doesn’t get to probe its own misdoings – no “high level” will suffice. This requires a judicial, court-monitored probe and so do other such cases.” Mattu wrote on Facebook.
