Pulwama Trio Arrested in Nocturnal Raids for ‘Uploading Militant Content on Internet’

In three different nocturnal raids in two areas of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district counter insurgency force Special Operation Group arrested three youth for allegedly misusing social networking sites including Facebook and Whatsapp.

During the first raid in Malikpora Pulwama SOG arrested Zakir Ahmed Malik while in Pinglina area two youth were picked up in two separate raids. The arrested youth were identified as Mushtaq Ahmed Kumhar son of Muhamamd Abdullah and Muhammad Adil Wani son of Muhammad Yousuf.

The relatives of these arrested youth while calling them innocent told CNS that they have been lodged in SOG camp Pulwama.

A top police official from the district said that these youth were arrested on the instructions of JKP’s Cyber Cell Srinagar. “The arrested youth used to upload the pro-militant content on Facebook and Whatsapp to instigate the sentiments of the people,” he said adding that more arrests are expected in coming days.
