Mushtaq Ahmad, Chairman, Jammu and Kashmir Bank, called on Governor N N Vohra, at the Raj Bhavan, in Jammu on Wednesday and informed the latter about the major achievements in the Bank’s operations in the past year.
The Governor discussed with Chairman certain issues relating to the Bank providing targeted support to identified segments of the economy, particularly the craftsmen, weavers and artisans, horticulturists and entrepreneurs who have viable proposals to set up food processing units and service facilities for the tourism sector, an official spokesperson said this evening.
The Governor stressed the J&K Bank’s responsibility to play a growingly larger role in speeding up the growth and development of the State.
It was agreed that the Governor would have a further meeting with the Chairman to discuss certain specific proposals.
