Police Distribute Uniform, Stationery Articles among Students in Baramulla

As a goodwill gesture to facilitate the education of children belonging to the economically downtrodden sections of the society, JKP’s IRP-13th battalion, under Civic Action Programme, distributed free uniform and stationery articles, amounting to Rs 4.51 Lakh, among 194 school going children, comprising of 112 female students and 82 boys of different Govt. Schools of District Baramulla.

The function was presided over by Sunil Kumar IGP AP/IRP Kashmir and attended by respectable citizens of the area, teaching fraternity and a number of students of different Govt. Schools of District Baramulla,  police statement said Thursday evening.

Mushtaq Ahmad Sports Officer District Baramulla in its inaugural speech praised J&K Police and appreciated Commandant IRP-13th Bn. Baramulla for organizing such programme. He urged IGP AP/IRP for organizing such programmes for orphans at District Baramulla as well.

Sunil Kumar while addressing on the occasion expressed commitment of the police to serve the society to the best possible extent through various Civic Action Programmes organized by the department. He particularly exhorted upon the teachers present on the occasion to facilitate and provide best possible education to the students and enable them to become good citizens of tomorrow.

He also stressed upon the children to set their aims high and the means to achieve them would come their way to lead them to success.

He assured the civil society members that such a programme will continue in future and assured them to render every sort of help through IRP-13th battalion, particularly the availability of ambulance during emergency, organizing of programmes for orphanage in District Baramulla.

SSP Showkat Ahmad Dar while speaking on the occasion highlighted the aims and objectives of Civic Action Programme as a policy launched by J&K Police.

The participants from civil society expressed their gratitude to the police department, particularly IRP-13th Battalion for organizing such programme.
