SRINAGAR: In yet another drowning incident on Sunday afternoon, Anku Singh, a 22-year-old resident of Kastigarh Doda, met a tragic end in the waters of the Jhelum in Anantnag.
Anku was an employee at JioTech, a private company in the region.
The unfortunate turn of events unfolded as Anku, son of Karamchand Singh, was spending leisure time by the riverside.
The grieving family of the deceased has converged at the scene of the mishap, expressing anguish over the lack of efforts by the authorities to recover Anku’s body.
“We have asked for the recovery of his remains, but it seems the authorities have turned a deaf ear to our pleas. We’ve been here for the past two days, and we’re left without any answers. There are no divers on site,” said a family member.
“We request the authorities to extend their support and expedite the retrieval of Anku’s body, providing some solace to our grief-stricken hearts,” the family member concluded.
