SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Mechanical Engineering Graduates Association (JKMEGA) organised a remarkable gathering, uniting both retired and in-service mechanical engineering graduates from the region. Under the banner of ATHWAAS, the association convened this momentous meeting in Srinagar. A platform for sharing insights, ideas, and innovations, this event aimed to strengthen the bonds within the engineering fraternity.
Amidst the event’s fervent atmosphere, Er Firdous Ahad Bhat, the President of JKMEGA, extended a warm welcome to the assembled audience. He lauded the relentless efforts of esteemed figures like Shailendra Kumar IAS, the principal secretary of R&B, and Satish Chander, Chairman of JKPSC, acknowledging their dedication to welfare initiatives. Additional Secretary Shahid Mehmood and his team also received a commendation for their strides in regularizing processes.
Er Binyamin Ahamed Thoker, the provincial secretary, adeptly employed a presentation to provide an intricate overview of JKMEGA’s operations, accomplishments, and ambitious goals set for the future. The association’s commitment to enhancing the public delivery system and advancing the welfare of its members remained at the forefront.
A highlight of the event was the technical session, where distinguished experts from the mechanical engineering field illuminated the audience. Eminent engineers, including Er Rashid Ahmed Dar, Er Gagan Jyoti, and Er Fareed Choudary, shared insights on the industry’s evolution. They fervently urged young engineers to embrace emerging trends to elevate their contributions to public service.
The event also paid homage to the pioneers of the mechanical engineering realm. Er Nazir Ahmed Qureshi, Er Gul Mohd, Er A R Teli, Er Farooq Ahamed Wani, Er Shafat Ahamed Chesti, and several others, including Superintendent Engineers, were honored for their profound contributions.
The gathering resonated with the wisdom of retired senior engineers who imparted their experiences and wisdom. Their consensus was clear: the field of mechanical engineering must be harnessed to its fullest potential for the collective welfare and public good.
The event also served as a platform to recognize and appreciate the exceptional work of field engineers. Acknowledgment through the transparent efficiency bar system brought to light the exemplary efforts of individuals like Er Shafat Ahamed Geelani, Er Jahan Ara, Er Imran Nowshari, Er Mir Irfan ul Islam, and numerous others across different departments.
The inauguration of JKMEGA’s official website marked a significant step toward fostering convenience for members. Er Gagan Jyoti, Er Fareed Ahamed Choudary, and Er Firdous Ahad Bhat launched the website, while Er Nadeem Akhbar Nagar, the Secretary of IT for JKMEGA, elaborated on its functionalities.
As the event drew to a close, Er Mohammad Malik Iqbal, the Vice President of JKMEGA, extended heartfelt gratitude on behalf of the association.
