SRINAGAR: People heaved a sigh of relief following improvement in the weather conditions across the Jammu and Kashmir after three days of snowfall on Wednesday.
Bright sunshine was seen in the Jammu and Kashmir after a snowfall and the Met said it will stay better for the next 48 hours till Friday.
Gulmarg in north Kashmir was the coldest place in the Valley where minimum temperature was minus 11.0 degrees.
Srinagar, the summer capital of the state recorded a low of minus 2.1 while the mercury in Qazigund in south Kashmir settled at a low of minus 2.5 degrees Celsius.
The night temperature in Pahalgam – the famous tourist place settled at a low of minus 9.0 degrees.
Kokernag town recorded a low of minus 6.5 degrees Celsius while Kupwara town in north Kashmir registered a low of minus 2.5 degrees Celsius last night.
Jammu city recorded 2.9 degrees Celsius, Katra 3.8, Batote minus 0.9, Banihal recorded 2.0 and Bhaderwah recorded minus 3.8 degrees Celsius as the night’s lowest temperatures.
