SRINAGAR: A militant was killed in an ongoing gunfight with the counter-insurgent forces in Lawaypora area of Srinagar district on Wednesay.

An official said that one militant was killed so far in the ongoing encounter at Lawaypora area of Srinagar.
The identity and the affiliation of the slain militant could not be ascertained immediately.
Earlier, on Tuesday a police spokesman said a gunfight broke out between militants and forces in Lawaypora area of Srinagar.
