A leopard was captured on Sunday by the Wildlife department after it ventured into a village in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
The department had been trying to capture the leopard since last week. The animal according to locals had killed many domestic animals.
A team of the wildlife department captured the animal today morning, officials said.
The leopard had killed several domestic animals in recent past.
“We have received several complaints from the local residents about the presence of the leopard. The animal was on the prowl in Koil, Malangpora and its adjoining areas since the last couple of weeks,” they said.
Concerned Intisar Suhail, Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) told news agency GNS that the leopard had killed many domestic animals in recent past. “We had laid a trap and met with success today as the animal was captured by our team at Koil Pulwama,” the DFO said.
