Coronavirus: Kashmir’s Second Victim Laid To Rest

The funeral of the 52-year-old man, the second person in Kashmir to succumb of coronavirus (COVID-19) took place on Sunday in Sulanda village of north Kashmir’s Tangmarg area of Baramulla district.

A reporter from north Kashmir told Kashmir Life that six persons including three sons were allowed to participate in funeral prayers of the deceased which took place at his native village Salundua.

“His cask was carried in by men dressed in protective gear, while the relatives of the deceased wore masks,” he said.

Reports said that the victim had no travel history but he had met a couple who had come from Saudi Arabia. The couple is currently admitted in Government Medical College (GMC) in Baramulla.

With his death, the number of fatalities due to COVID-19 has raised two in Kashmir Valley.

On Thursday last, a 65-year-old from Hyderpora died of the disease, making it the first case of death due to Coronavirus.

Meanwhile, five more people tested positive for the coronavirus, taking the number of such persons 38 in the entire Jammu and Kashmir.
