Minister for Education, Mr Altaf Ahmad Bukhari on Thursday informed Legislative Assembly that the Government has referred 2154 teacher, 1296 non-teaching staff vacancies for fast track recruitment to overcome the paucity of staff (teaching and non-teaching) in the schools.
The spokesman said the department is contemplating to refer more posts to the recruiting agencies soon and in this connection, the process of consolidation of vacancies is in progress in all districts, the Minister informed further.
Replying to a question of Mr Daleep Singh Parihar, the Minister said that there are 18 Higher Secondary Schools functional in Bhaderwah constituency, including 2 Girls Higher Secondary Schools where almost all important subjects are being taught.
Elaborating further, the Minister said that introduction of additional courses in these schools is based on the demand and requires the creation of posts of lecturers in the corresponding subjects.
He said a proposal for introduction of Islamic, Buddhist, Vedic studies, tourism and microbiology subjects in GHSSs was referred to the Finance Department for its concurrence but it has expressed inability for the creation due to the scarcity of resources. However, he said the introduction of microbiology subject is under consideration of the department.
