SRINAGAR: A youth from the Langate area lost his life after being caught in a landslide on Monday evening.
An official stated that on Monday evening, a person named Bilal Ahmad Mir (25), son of Ab Jabbar Mir and resident of Langate Handwara, was caught in a landslide.
In response, a police party promptly arrived at the scene and the injured individual was taken to the hospital. Unfortunately, the doctor declared him dead on arrival.
Meanwhile, an inquest proceeding under Section 174 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CRPC) has been initiated, and the deceased’s body has been taken into police custody.
Once all the necessary legal formalities were completed, the deceased’s body was handed over to the legal heirs for the last rites, the official added. (KS)
