SRINAGAR: The government has decided to re-advertise Rehbar-e-Janglat, Rehbar-e-Zirat and Rehbar-e-Khel posts through Service Selection Board with “additional weightage and age relaxation” to be given to those engaged on these posts.
According to a communication to Commissioner/Secretary to the Government, Forest Ecology and Environment Department, Undersecretary to Government states that matter regarding the issues of Rehbar-e-Janglat was placed before a Committee, constituted vide Government order (No. 294- JK(GAD) of 2020) dated 27.02.2020. “The committee has recommended that all the posts shall be re-advertised through SSB and additional weightage and age relaxation can be considered to Rehbar-e-Janglat candidates, so that they can apply afresh against re-advertised posts through SSB.”
The recommendations of the Committee, the order states, have been accepted by the Competent Authority.
In this connection, the government directed Commissioner/Secretary to the Government, Department of Forest, Ecology and Environment Department to “implement the recommendations of the Committee in letter and spirit.”
It is learnt that similar communication has been made to concerned authorities regarding Rehbar-e-Zirat and Rehbar-e-Khel.
However, regarding National Youth Corps (NYCs) Principal Secretary to the Government, Youth Services & Sports Department have been informed that Committee has observed that NYCs are working on a voluntary basis. “The similar scheme is also at the Government of India level. The scheme in the UT of J&K shall continue to be voluntary and the volunteers will be henceforth governed by the guidelines issued by the Government of India from time to time w.e.f. the date of issuance of the Government Order,” a separate communication, a copy of which lies with GNS, reads. “Till then, no further engagement shall be made by the Youth Services and Sports Department.”
The recommendations of the Committee have been accepted by the Competent Authority, the communication underlined.
Principal Secretary to the Government, Youth Services and Sports Department has been directed to implement the recommendations of the Committee in letter and spirit under an intimation to this department.”
