SRINAGAR: Federal investigator, National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested a total of 25 persons in a case that it registered in early October. Two of the 25 persons were arrested on Saturday.

The NIA, according to its statement made public on Sunday, registered the case RC-29/2021/NIA/DLI on October 10, 2021.
“The case relates to conspiracy for undertaking violent terrorist acts in J&K and other major cities by cadres of Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT), Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), Hizb-ul-Mujahideen (HM), Al Badr and their affiliates such as The Resistance Front (TRF) and People Against Fascist Forces (PAFF),” the statement said. “Preliminary investigation has revealed that arrested accused persons are terror associates/OGWs of various outfits and have been providing logistical and material support to terrorists.”
The statement said the agency has so far arrested 25 accused persons in the case. These included Ishfaq Ahmed Wani of Srinagar and Umar Bhat of Sopore, who were arrested on October 30.
