SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Sunday claimed to have recovered drugs worth Rs 25 crore along the Line of Control (LOC) in Uri sector of Baramulla district in north Kashmir.
Addressing a press conference, Rayees Ahmad Bhat, SSP Baramulla credited operation to alert troops posted at the LoC who noticed suspicious movement near the border on Saturday.
The forces personnel foiled the attempt to pump illegal drugs into Jammu and Kashmir from across the border, he said. Around 25 to 30 kilograms of heroin was recovered and handed over to the police. The market value of narcotics is estimated to be around Rs 25 crore.

SSP Rayees Ahmad Bhat added that an investigation is underway and police is likely to crack the module involved in the illegal drug trafficking in the district.
