SRINAGAR: The family and relatives of a 30-year-old woman, who was found hanging from a walnut tree in Nowgam area of Central Kashmir’s Budgam district on May 10, staged a protest on Friday, alleging hospital authorities of delaying reports of post-mortem.
Reports said that the family members of the deceased lady held a protest outside sub-district hospital Charar-i-Sharief while demanding justice.
“My sister was murdered, as she was hanged to death by her in-laws,” news agency KNO reported brother of the deceased lady as having said.
As per her family, she was found hanging outside her in-law’s residence at Nowgam Darwan during the intervening night of May 09 and 10.
“If she had committed suicide, why would doctors delay the post-mortem report. They conducted post-mortem on May 10, but they didn’t show us the report even it has been 55 days now,” said Shahrukh Malik, brother of the deceased lady.
The family members alleged that doctors are delaying in giving the FSL reports by saying they have not received the clear reports as yet.
They alleged that they visited the hospital many times but every time they have been denied the reports for reasons best known to hospital authorities.
The family said that they have already approached the concerned police station to file an FIR and urged the administration to initiate a quick inquiry into it.
Meanwhile, when contacted by chief medical officer Budgam, Dr Tajamul said that the results which were pending due to some non-accuracy and same will now be given to the family on Friday.
