DAK Urges LG Administration To Restart Non-COVID Services In JK

SRINAGAR: Keeping in view the hardship faced by general people to get non- covid medical facilities, Doctors Association Kashmir (DAK) urges authorities to revisit and redesignate noncovid facilities in Jammu and Kashmir.

Dr Mohd Yousuf Tak, President DAK said that It is the right time to start non-covid services in all hospitals as the closure of services is taking a heavy toll on non-covid patients. We have collectively combated 2nd wave of covid effectively and the graph of a pandemic is flattening rather than showing a consistent downward trend, he added. The timely decisions and actions taken by the administration are praiseworthy and participation and cooperation of the general public can’t be forgotten.

Frontline covid warriors are fighting a war against invisible enemy holistically and multi-pronged approach adopted by health department has saved thousands of lives. Our salute to doctors and paramedics who are day-night working hard to comfort the ailing patients and putting all efforts to vaccinate all eligible beneficiaries.

While applauding the role of doctors, paramedical staff and other front line workers urged it’s cadres to work with the same zeal and dedication and provide people non-covid services.

Dr Owais H Dar, General Secretary DAK urged people to maintain vigil and guard and observe covid appropriate behaviour (CAB) in letter and spirit so that another surge can be avoided. He further added that hence the graph of covid is coming down and we have ample oxygen fitted beds available across UT JK including two DRDO hospitals, it is proper time to start non covid services in all hospitals in the larger interest of general public. He also said that it is high time that we should prepare for 3rd wave where in it is assumed that by and large pediatric population might be inflected more than the adult population. Pandemic is a dynamic process and our response should be calibrated according to the activity of the virus.

He appealed to the people irrespective of comorbidities to go for vaccination as soon as possible, sooner the better. All lactational mothers should also go for vaccination without any hesitancy and that is the only way to fight out this devastating pandemic completely.

Dr M Ashraf Mir Sr Vice President appreciated the efforts of the government in managing the second wave effectively and demanded that more Oxygen Generation plants be installed in all District and sub-District Hospitals to deal with any un-eventuality.

Doctors Association Kashmir appealed to people to take vaccination to a successful conclusion and make it a sparkling success so that COVID is defeated in a real sense.
