SRINAGAR: A special police officer (SPO) of Jammu and Kashmir police was killed while as his two family members sustained injuries by unknown gunmen in Hariparigam village of Awantipora area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Sunday evening.
An official said that gunmen fired at SPO Fayaz Ahmad at his residence in Harparigam area of Awantipora. “ Fayaz died on the spot,” said the official, adding that his wife and daughter have also received injuries.
The injured were immediately shifted to nearby hospital for treatment.
Soon after the incident, a joint team of forces launched a hunt to nab the assailants, the official said.
