SRINAGAR: Nearly after one year of closure since March 2020 due to the Covid-19 outbreak, schools in the Kashmir division reopened on Monday for formal physical classes.
The students of Classes 9 to Class 12 attended school for the first time since March 9, 2020. On the first day, students were welcomed with sanitizers, masks, besides being welcomed by faculty and other staff members.
While talking to the media, officials said “students, as well as parents, are enthusiastic about the reopening of schools. This significant decision of reopening of schools has been made after taking various factors into account and due deliberation.”
He said that all the SOPs and guidelines are being followed and every care has been taken to ensure the safety and security of students and staff members.
According to a government order, middle school level classes (Class 6 to Class 8) are scheduled to reopen on March 8 while the remaining classes are slated to reopen on March 18.
